Dinner with the Director
We are so excited to be presenting "All Shook Up" as our fall musical. Please join us for Dinner with the Director on Friday, August 17th at 6pm in the CHS Black Box Theatre to learn more about the show. Bring your own dinner, along with some items to get comfy (pillows, blankets, etc) and get ready for a night with the King!
We will take time to do a Q&A and Mrs. Ruth will discuss what she is looking for at auditions, talk about the characters and the message of the show. After the Q&A, we will with video clips of Elvis in his prime and clips from the musical. We will not have time to discuss this material at the workshop, so please try to attend.
On Saturday, August 18th, we will be hosting our annual musical workshop for those interested in auditioning for the musical. You are NOT required to attend the workshop. Attending the workshop will give you a leg up on the audition pieces and insight into what the directors are looking for at auditions. You will also be able to practice the audition song and dance cut.
The workshop will begin at 8 am sharp (doors open at 7:30) with morning sessions focusing on the dance combinations and song cuts. You will have time to rehearse in small groups. You will also be able to record the cuts on your phone. Lunch is not provided and you will need to bring your lunch or make arrangements to leave campus. Theatre rooms will be closed from 12-1. Afternoon sessions will consist of mock auditions and may include cold reads from the script. Be prepared to stay until 4pm.
The cost for the workshop is $40. You can pay in cash (exact change please) or write a check made payable to CHS Theatre. Please we are clothes you can move in and either jazz shoes or tennis shoes for the dance portion. No bare feet or flip flops. Bring a water bottle, towel and snacks.
Are you interested in working on the stage crew for All Shook Up? If so, email Mr. Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org. You are also welcome to express interest in working on the crew on your audition form, if you are not cast in the show. Crew assignments will be decided upon by Mr. Thomas. The production fee for the crew will be $50, which includes a show t-shirt and tech week meals.
All Shook Up Audition Info
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 21st, and Wednesday, August 22nd, from 4:30-7. Callbacks will be on Thursday, August 23rd. Rehearsals for the show will be held primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 and Sundays from 1-4. We will rehearse on holidays. The first rehearsal will be Sunday, August 26th, 1-4 with a parent meeting from 4-6. At least one parent must attend. There will be a $75 production fee collected.

Take One students need to prepare a 1-2 minute monologue to perform the second week of school.
